THE GROWER

Winegrowing was already part of both sides of the Zavec family, initially for home consumption. The professional chapter began in 1995, when the brothers’ parents rented their first vineyards in Vareja and Dravinjski Vrh. The planted area developed gradually through new leases and replanting.

Today the family works across four locations, also including Gorca and Podlehnik, with eight grape varieties typical of the Slovenian Styrian winegrowing area. A new generation continues the work through sustainable farming and limited intervention in the cellar. The aim is to introduce Haloze through wines that stay closely connected to the landscape in which their grapes grow.
