Vaira Aurelj
In Vergne, brothers Francesco and Giacomo honour their father Aurelio with small vineyard plots, hand harvesting and a careful approach to every production stage.

THE GROWER
Francesco and Giacomo inherited their love of vines and wine from their father. They named their project after him, using “Aurelj”, the local dialect form of Aurelio. Their small vineyard plots face southeast and southwest, with some inside the Barolo DOCG area and others just beyond it, at around 450 metres above sea level.
All grapes are picked by hand, with selection carried out directly in the vineyard. The brothers follow ethical, sustainable practices and view each wine as an expression of the work done among the vines. Careful decisions throughout production continue that commitment from the vineyard into the cellar.
