THE GROWER

Japanese biologist Shun Minowa left Tokyo to make natural wines in the Trebbia Valley, in the hills of Piacenza. Based in Travo, he works with grapes including Ortrugo, Malvasia di Candia and Marsanne.

His approach gives particular attention to the microorganisms of the vineyard and to preserving the identity of its terroir, avoiding systemic treatments. The portfolio highlights wines such as the skin-contact white Gate and Jai Guru Deva. They form part of a small artisanal project shaped by local varieties and a close interest in the living environment of the vines.
